Location: Clerkenwell Close, London – Farringdon Underground
Description: Working in our journalism department you will be teaching dedicated selected would-be journalists to pass the NCTJ prelims.
You will have worked on a news desk for at least five years as a reporter or sub or above and must have formal teaching experience, preferably teaching NCTJ subjects.
You will play a vital role in the delivery of journalism training to our selected students helping maintain and build the already enviable reputation of our central London college.
You will be conversant with QuarkXPress and play a vital role in bringing out regular in-house class newspapers/magazines.
The role is initially a six-month contract covering approximately 12-15 hours per week. This will include Saturdays and half-days during the week.

Visiting lecturers: We are always looking for working journalists who have something to say and can hold the interest of our demanding journalism students. In the first instance send in an idea for a half-hour talk and tell us why you should be the one to give it. If you are a specialist, for example, in fashion, music, sport, online etc. you could pitch a talk on these subjects. Bear in mind we are inundated with such requests and will select on originality and innovation of subject matter. It helps if you can offer some tangible benefit as part of your talk, such as an interesting and informative handout or exercise. noSWeat is always on the lookout for talented administrative assistants who enjoy organising themselves and others.
There is a current vacancy as set out below:
Job title: Casual admin staff
Salary: negotiable according to age and experience
Location: Clerkenwell Close, London – Farringdon Underground
Description: Working mainly on our reception desk you will be able to deal with the hectic schedule which is the noSWeat administration department.
You will need a level head which can deal with everything from a buzz on the front door to a complicated request from a student or tutor, to envigilating an exam.
Answering the phone, too in a polite and efficient manner is a must. We pay above the going rate for the job but expect a lot in return.
So if you are smart, inside and out; don’t mind picking up where somebody else left off with the minimum of fuss, and can keep everyone happy all the time then you may be just what we are looking for.
